Default First Grade Traditional Spelling error Lesson 1

On page four of the Teachers Manual under the Classical Phonics section, it references Phonics Rule #1 on Page 137. Those rules are actually found on page 175 of the Teachers Manual (not in the Classical Phonics book). Also same section under double f, l, s, z final consonant blends is page 52 not 56-57.

    Good morning,

It sounds like you're using the first edition of Classical Phonics. Traditional Spelling, however, is keyed to the second edition of CP. If you wish to continue using your first edition CP, we did create a free PDF that converts page numbers from one edition to the other. I've attached it to this post for you.

    HTH!

The other thing that changed was the order of the phonics rules. I noticed that when I was looking up the rules in my old Classical Phonics they didn't seem to line up with what the Spelling Book said they were. I was able to compare my first grade material (from the Phonics Guide for Reading and Spelling) and second grade material to come with a list of the right order for the phonics rules. I will list the differences here. (Note: This applies to the Traditional Spelling 2, but is probably the same for Traditional Spelling 1.)
    Phonics Rules
    Rule #1 - unchanged
    Rule #2 - was #3
    Rule #3 - was #4
    Rule #4 - was #5
    Rule #5 - was #2
    Rule #6 - unchanged
    Rule #7 - unchanged

Oh, good point. We forgot to include the changed rule numbers. Mea culpa!

ETA: I checked the Spelling Rules too, and they moved and changed as well. We will add all of this info to the Cross-Reference and post the revised version on the Classical Phonics page. HTH!
