Default Can someone help with SFL and MPOA?

    MP Peeps ....
I have a sweet friend who is planning on using the MPOA for SFL in the fall. (hooooray!)

She asked me if I was familiar with any of the teachers, either through the MPOA, or the Cottage School. We've not met any of the teachers for SFL, personally.

Can anyone offer some thoughts on a teacher to recommend? (and I know that all of the instructors are top notch -- this friend of mine just welcomed a new baby, and is treading water at present) Thank you all so much.

My daughter currently has Sadie Greever, Susan Francino, Cody King and Kevin Dray for her MPOA classes, and they are all truly wonderful. All are knowledgeable, organized and make efficient use of class time. Dr, Dray is also very entertaining. Meredith Cutrer is supposed to be excellent - my daughter will have her for 4FL next year because that was the time that worked best for us. I would have been happy with any of our options. I really don't think your friend can go wrong. She's always had excellent teachers.

Cody King! My son is currently taking his SF class and really enjoys Mr. King. We are bummed that his TF class for next year doesn't work with our schedule, so he will have Mr. Dray (who I also hear is wonderful

I know you already had great replies, but I wanted to add to them. We've had Sadie Greever and Cody King for teachers and have been very pleased. We've had Kevin Dray and Patrick Timmis and also been pleased. My oldest has had the benefit of having Mr. King for FFL and SFL and will continue with him. My next son will have Dr. Dray for FFL next year, because I think he'll enjoy Dr. Dray's lively personality and humor. You can't go wrong with any of the teachers, but personal recs are always helpful. I'm thankful this is a place where we can share those and also thankful that MPOA has so many wonderful male teachers for my sons.

*This year we will experiment with having a public school student watch recorded MPOA classes and take the tests.

    Bumping this up...

I would love to hear from a few more on these instructors. My daughter had an instructor she found very dry, and would prefer someone more lively and energetic for First Form this year. Ms. Cutrer's class time works good for us--thoughts on her? Mr. King and Mr. Davidson also have class times that work. Thank you!

I highly recommend Mr. King. My son would take all of his course offerings if he could. He had such a great experience this year in SF. He is bummed to not be able to have him for TF due to a time conflict.

Is he light and fun at all? The instructor she had before was very serious...and she got bored listening to her for an hour and a half...

    Default MPOA SFL Review

I'm getting ready to sign my daughter up for the SFL Summer Review -- trying to decide between Mr Cable and Mrs Timmis. Anyone have thoughts or experience? Thanks!

My daughter loved Mr. Cable. He was one of her favorites. She's never had Mrs.Timmis.

Definitely not boring! My son struggles with focus and he was engaged and interested the whole class period!

We ended up signing up for Mr Cable's class -- Rachel wanted the Wednesday slot.

I was wrong! Just got the welcome email from Dr. Cable. Ha. I'm not sure sure why I had thought we signed up for Ms. Timmis' class.
