Hi Sarah! Thanks for the info! We need lots of help with the FF Latin, lol! How do you drill the vocab, grammar forms, and grammar questions?...

Thanks so much everyone! These are all very helpful posts! I will be implementing these ideas today!

Thanks, Cheryl! These are great ideas! I was focusing too much on checking all the boxes rather than both of our sanities, lol.
I am going to implement just about all of these ideas starting immediately! Big weight off of both of our shoulders!
And thanks for the nice words about my older...

How do you use the flashcards?
Hi all, We are new to MP this year and I've switched all 3 of my kids, ages 6, 12 (Simply Classical), and 13. It's been a little overwhelming trying to get it all figured out and implementing it, although so far I love it! I am a little confused as to how to use the flashcards. We've got 2 different...

I think they are both great programs. My 6-year-old who is strong in math finished about 2/3 of RIghtstart Level B before I fell in love with Memoria Press and ordered the 1st grade program customized with R&S 2nd grade. The first 4 weeks have been cake for her. She says "too easy" but...

Questions about Classical Comp Fables and DVD
Hi all, My son just started CC Fables using the DVD with me by his side. While I love the DVD, the lesson doesn't seem to match the student workbook. For lesson 1 Paraphrase I, the DVD talks about reversing the fable but the workbook asks for minimizing. Then when we played the part that was supposed...

Help for my struggling 8th grader?
I am in need of recommendations for my 13-year-old son... We just started school for this year 2 weeks ago. This is his first year using MP/classical curriculum. He was a late reader with symptoms of dyslexia, but is now reading pretty close to grade level. He still struggles with spelling/writing (composition)...Last edited by jerrysgal4ever; 10-12-2019, 01:10 AM.

THANK-YOU Cindy!!! This is exactly what I needed! The Rod and Staff looks perfect. VideoText was actually top on my list so excited to see it offered. I think we are good to go! That was my last little curriculum piece. This is our first year using MP. I've been working with my 1st-grader for a week,...

Yes, thanks, that helps. Do you have any recommendations as far as a lesson plan for the R&S 8? Should I just plan to do a lesson a day? For the 8th grade would you have him do the entire lesson or pick and choose? He tends to be unmotivated for schoolwork so we will be working on that this year....

Thanks, everyone! You have taken a great weight off of my shoulders! I am going to shelf the 8th grade Christian/Classical Studies and use Christian Studies IV and the 7th Grade Classical Studies instead. Famous Men of Greece, Trojan War and Horatius. Sticking with Geography III, the 8th Grade Literature,...

Quick math question-
I will be using Rod and Staff grade 8 this year with my 13-year-old as he has a lot of gaps, hasn't memorized times tables, etc. Would I follow this with Pre-Algebra or Algebra I in 9th grade next year?

Choices for 8th grade
Hi all, We are new to MP and classical, trying to put together a curriculum for the year. My 13-year-old 8th grade son was a slow reader, maybe some dyslexia but never tested. He's pretty much reading on grade level now but struggles with writing/spelling. I've taken the MP 8th grade core and modified...

Eighth grade math choices/decisions :-O
My 13-year-old son (and all the rest of us) are new to classical/Memoria this year, getting a late start 9/30. He has some mild learning disabilities, was a late reader, will be using First Form Latin, EGR II, and Fable/Narrative, plus hopefully 8th grade core for everything else except math. Last year...

Thanks Monica! I did see the sample of 2, 3 and 4. She already knows multiple digit multiplication and some of long division so 2 and 3 looked too easy. On their placement test, she places in level 4. There may be a few gaps we have to fill in because Math-U-See has such a different path but I didn't...
