Oh definitely if we use the cottage school I would be homeschooling. I mean if we enroll all the kids in HLS. :-)...

I don't know!!!! If we aren't homeschooling anymore...well. I'm sure Tanya could put me to work setting up tables and things so that I can still feel like I have "earned" my participation :-) But it would be truly awesome to meet IRL!...

Thanks, Tanya! I looks like Louisville has classes during our spring break, so I will talk with my husband about coming up for a few days. Great suggestion....

Can someone talk to me about the cottage school and/or Highlands Latin in Louisville?
Life has changed drastically for us in the last month. We have just now enrolled all three kids in Gulf Coast Classical Academy (it's a newly formed full time Memoria Press school here in Clearwater FL). We are 90% sure we are moving to Louisville, KY this summer. I would love to message, email,...

When do we get to “why” not just “what”?
We are four weeks into 5M with my daughter. The first few weeks were an adjustment and now things are going swimmingly. However, it’s all easy for her. It’s work, and worthwhile work not at all “busy work”, but with the exception of Narrative, none of the material is challenging her. I don’t...

I love almost all the books from Ambleside Online. If you scroll to the bottom of each year (year one here: https://www.amblesideonline.org/ao-y1-bks) there is a section titled "Additional Books for Free Reading" and since there is a list for each year, it's roughly broken up by ability level...

MP is a lot to adjust to. It's totally fine to do a Monday on a Wednesday, a Friday on a Tuesday, etc. Some families just white out the days entirely and write in "day 1" "day 2" etc. And you can draw up a loop scheduled based on that...so day 1 would be Classical studies, day...

It's an excellent curriculum, and it's so good, it's ok if you flounder a bit! :-) Have you watched the Sodalitas videos from years past? I have found that the 2019 ones are amazingly helpful. https://www.memoriapress.com/streami...hering-videos/ They really teach you how to...

Thanks! I hadn’t thought about the fact that it is condensed in the GCB but of course it has to be! I will present that bit of information; I suppose we could just get out GCB and our Bible and if the Bible passage is just way too long, do GCB that week....

Golden Bible vs. real Bible?
My fifth grader is asking that we read the "real" Bible for Christian Studies II rather than the Golden Children's Bible. She volunteers to read verses during the pull out children's ministry at our church, and really enjoys doing that. I will of course be right there to discuss any troubling/"adult"...

Oh gracious, the bane of my existence. Could we just skip lunch entirely???? I have salad pretty much everyday; I keep a big bowl in the fridge of lettuce with carrots and cucumbers, and just scoop out my portion and then add in meat, fruit, nuts, and dressing right before I eat. The kids would...

I found itty bitty boxes at Office Depot today. The brand is Really Useful Box and they are 0.3 L each. Here’s a photo. FFL is a lot more flash cards so I am keeping it in the 3x5 index card box. ...
