Geography for 8th grader
Hello everyone!
If my upcoming 8th grader has never taken geography, should I just let him take geography III that is in the 8th grade core, or start him with I and let him do II & III in 9/10 grade?
Thanks!

Re: Might be Drowning?!
I love these tips!! I bought a timer today for him to use with each subject to do that very thing you mentioned. We have used quizlet a little bit but might need to check it out some more. Having that healthy competition has to help as well!...

Re: Might be Drowning?!
Lots of gems in here Sarah, thank you for taking the time! The location of school has been a challenge for a while now. He has been in his room at a desk the past few weeks (before that laying in bed, to which I put a stop to as he was really...

Re: Might be Drowning?!
Thank you Maria! I have done open book tests for him often just b/c I know there is no way he can know the material with what he's done. I also have him take a test, then with answers he doesn't know off the top of his head he can use the book...

Re: Might be Drowning?!
Thank you Amy! Yes, I so relate to the sitting/half lying on the couch schooling. I did put my foot down a few weeks ago about that and making him sit up at a table. There is just no getting around being tired when you are in that position!...

Might be Drowning?!
Ok, I hope I do not get too long winded here, I am apologizing ahead of time.

Re: FSR - Give up or Shelve for a bit?
Thank you Anita! I think what stressed me out was in the TM at that lesson, it was saying the child needed to be able to read these fluently before going on, or something to that extent. Made me second guess everything!...

Re: FSR - Give up or Shelve for a bit?
So do you think it is ok to continue on even if it doesn't seem like she knows those words? She doesn't seem to have memory problems anywhere else that I've noticed yet. Thanks for the reminder to smile and have an assuring...

FSR - Give up or Shelve for a bit?
Hello everyone!
I need help! My 6.5 year old daughter is having a hard time with her reading lessons. We are using the K core and lesson plans as written using FSR (still in book A) and the phonics, etc. We use the flashcards daily, and most days she can remember the letter names/sounds,...

Re: Status Report: How's everybody doing?
I'm sure Mary is sick of hearing me say this (since I tell her almost every time I see her)...I am head over heels in love with MP! And honestly I believe a huge part of that is due to the amazing help I've received here (thank you all!) when...
