So, I have two children, with varying special needs.
My son is 11, academically just fine, but has Sensory Processing Disorder, Tourette Syndrome, Joint Hypermobility Syndrome which has given fine motor issues. I would say he's a bit immature emotionally, and he also is very much an...

Question about Intro to Composition
I'm curious, I see this is scheduled starting in grade 3. Following the moderated plans, it looks as though it is continued in grade 4 with the "supplemental lessons" being scheduled. Are those the lessons in the appendix? Does it eventually move into the next composition book?

Some questions before I order (grade 3 products)
1. Is the Introduction to Composition teacher's key really necessary for the mom on a budget?
2. Where do I get the dictation directions if I am not purchasing the full grade 3 teacher's guide?
3. If I purchase the combined English Grammar 1/Intro to Composition lesson plans (digital download),...

A couple different questions please re: science/history
First off I'm just curious as to how long it takes you each day, going by grade. Right now, with the plans I have it looks like it'll be about 1-1.5 hours a day for my daughter (K), and about 2 hours or so for my son (ending grade 2/starting 3) <- That's without any "real" history or science,...

You know that's a great idea! I could do our "kits" over the summer for fun. I also agree with you on your other comment - if it's not in the guide it doesn't get done. I'm bad at that....

Adding in the extras? What would you do with this?
I find sometimes my biggest problem as a homeschool is my wonderful resources that I've managed to accumulate. They sit there new and shiny, unused, beckoning, begging, "Use me! Use me!" And then I sit and wonder, think and plan, and try and figure out how I can do that one extra thing. I...Last edited by mshanson3121; 04-28-2015, 07:17 PM.

What are the core skills books and are there samples? I'd love to buy the whole program, but can't afford to. We do have lots of easy readers though, we have the BOB books, lots of those Step into Reading etc... books. I kept a lot of my son's readers for this purpose

First Start Reading question
Could I use this set on it's own without the other books, to teach beginning phonics/reading?

We have two children, our daughter turns 5 in a few weeks, our son 8 this summer. We're going to use mostly Mott Media and MP 2nd grade products for my son. We're on a strict budget right now, which is why I can't just buy the "C" program, so I've been picking and choosing top resources, trying...

lol. Well thank you
Yes, we're in Canada, so, we definitely have to teach French at some point. I was actually looking at the French program MP offers, I see it says grades 6-8, that it's grammar based as well. Would grade 6 be too late, or do you think I could use it even earlier?...

First Start Reading sample?
Is there a sample of the teacher's guide available? Just would like to see what the lesson layouts are like.

Question about languages
I know that Latin starts in the 2nd grade, and that per the MP guides, they start Greek in grade 7. However, I notice on one of the products (Elementary Greek) they recommend a scope/sequence of starting Greek in 4th grade.
Has anyone taught the two languages together like that? Or do...

Okay, so I have DS figured out - on to DD
I'm wavering a bit, but how does this sound - I'm basically picking bits and pieces.
I'm going to do the K-enrichment with DD and DS, so that takes care of literature, art, music, social studies and science.
Math: Ray's...
