I had the red spiral one, but it was replaced with a black spiral one, which I was told was the latest one. Hmmm.

I was starting Week 5 right now and another error for Monday under Phonics it says "Core Skills 2 pp 51-52(long o), but those pages reference long e. Confusing....

What does your lesson plan say for Week 4 Tuesday under Classical Phonics? Mine says: pp.44-45(long a); p.74(ai,ay), but that last one should be p 73, not 74. Is that how yours is or not?...

I promise I am not trying to be a pest. Just need some understanding. I am going through Grade 1 with my son. We started later so are only on week 4 right now.

I found two errors:
1) In the lesson plans for week 3 on Monday under PHONICS, Core Skills Phonics says to do 2-p.36(i)...

I overheard on a FB group that the Core Skills Phonics is Common Core aligned. Is this correct?

We are doing Grade 1 and using the Core Skills Phonics. I understand it took the place of SRA prior to us getting the package. I am asking because I thought MP was opposed to CC.

If it were me it might be a sign that this group is "not for us". Its one thing if you are asking for their opinions or advice about it, but doesn't sound like it. If they are bombarding you that doesn't sound fun or very kind.

Got it! So when the lesson plan for Copywork says "memorize the table blessing or favorite verse" is it talking about the verses in the Copybook for each week??

Thanks for that detailed explanation! I feel better knowing now how you set up the lessons. I will definitely turn our focus to the lessons we need. My son knows how to county pretty high so all the number review and writing was a bit much for him and like I said the addition is where he needs to improve...

We are just starting out with Grade 1 and so are at the beginning of the lesson plans for everything. With regard to the math it seems like there are lessons skipped for Arithmetic. For instance, it will say do lessons 3,4 and 11 and the next day another set, but it is skipping some. I can't find where...

I am reviewing the lessons to start with my 1st grader this week. I understand MP doesn't include the flash cards in the curriculum and I see I can purchase them separately or make my own. In week 1 it says to complete lesson 11 and lesson 11 preparation says to make Addition Family 1 flash cards....
