I'd recommend using ideas from The Feeding Doctor (Dr. Katja Rowell) http://thefeedingdoctor.com/ or Ellyn Satter Institute, including division of responsibility. We adopted two children when 9 and 10 and we used these ideas to help with their selective eating/very limited dietary preferences etc. Dr....Last edited by HeatherB; 02-13-2021, 06:03 PM.

Hmmm...I'm glad I logged in and saw these. This might be helpful for Ligia who is still at about 3rd grade level reading? Or would it be too babyish for her? Or maybe with my 8 year old who is still not reading independently. Thinking...hmmm.

I will attempt to write more later but wanted to pop in for a second. I am mama to 4 through adoption. We adopted two at age 9 and 10 who experienced extreme trauma before adoption (every kind imaginable) plus have Fetal alcohol syndrome. I have met them consistently where they are academically and...

SC Level 3 Week 25 Science Book?
In my lesson plans, the week 25 science book is titled Construction Vehicles (How Machines Work). I am unsure who the author is and I don't see it even included in the book sets on the web site.
Thanks,

Re: Accommodation Tips for Rod & Staff 3?
The advantage of scanning and copying is that I could enlarge it if needed for my teens who have vision problems. I don't really want to buy extra copies for my two teens as we already have limited shelves storage at this time with the...

Re: Accommodation Tips for Rod & Staff 3?
Milestone Books said "Yes, since you are not copying to avoid buying the books, I'm sure it is fair use and the publishers would be happy to let you copy like that for special needs" when I tried to double check with them. ...

Re: Accommodation Tips for Rod & Staff 3?
I emailed them and they do say it is okay if I scan and copy the pages. I may try this too so they can easily be re-copied if they get frustrated or erase too hard, etc.

Re: Accommodation Tips for Rod & Staff 3?
Also if they wrote in the book there is not much space so not sure that will accommodate either of them very well? I'm concerned about the smaller print since both have visual problems.

Re: Accommodation Tips for Rod & Staff 3?
My concern is that they might tear a hole in the textbook if they are erasing problems or correcting a problem with much effort/many attempts?
One of my kids presses down very hard when she writes so it is challenging...

Accommodation Tips for Rod & Staff 3?
I have the traditional lesson plans booklet for Rod & Staff Arithmetic 3 (from Memoria). My two teens are about half way through SC 3 so not doing the math was written in SC 3. This will be our first experience using Rod and Staff math that has only textbook and not workbooks/handouts. Any tips...

Re: Transcripts or High School Aged Students Using Simply Classical
I admit I get teary eyed and overwhelmed because I feel like we still have so much father to go or at least attempt to go academically (particularly since we adopted them when they were older). I think I've told them...
