That would be great if he's willing to share. Definitely a keeper....

Me too! Every time I begin to look elsewhere, I end up right back where I started, and almost always it's Debbie's words of wisdom that get me back there....

Thanks, ladies. The desire to buy something new and exciting is really getting to me this summer. The last three books in the series were actually my favorites, so maybe we will stick with CC and use the books as writing exercises and then work on essays in other subjects.

I forgot to mention that the younger two will have completed CC through Common Topic.

Lost Tools of Writing after Classical Comp
Has anyone transitioned from Classical Comp to Lost Tools of Writing? My oldest completed all of CC through MPOA, but my younger two want to do writing at home next year. I was considering switching to LTW because it seems to focus on more traditional essay writing and can be done with other subjects....

MPOA also has a schedule for these. The City of God schedule is in a word document, but Cicero is only scheduled on the course page....

I have McClay's Land of Hope, and it looks nice but I was afraid it might be a bit too light. I know the TG & WB have lots of original source documents, but then I start to think it sounds like a lot of work for me. Perhaps I will take another look at it. Thank you!

I was thinking CTP looked like an easier read, and since the MP guides have not been updated, I think I may go that route. Thanks Debbie!

Can anyone compare the MP book to the Catholic Textbook Project's Lands of Hope and Promise? Would one be more suitable to use with a 10th grader? I was hoping one would be more concise, but both have 800+ pages. Is one an easier read than the other?

US History Guides
Is there a rewrite of the US History guides in the works? Will there be lesson plans for a one year pace?

The publisher sold it. It must go with the book of tests also by the publisher.

I know there was a book of tests, and I had assumed the answer key went with that, but if HLS used it I thought maybe I had missed something. The answer key has answers to 60+ tests and it does not match the ones in the front.

I bought the Answer Key to Tests several years ago, and have never been able to figure out where the tests are located. I assumed they were in one of the many teacher resources that went with the book that I did not purchase. Did I miss them somewhere?...

Are you asking if she would be required to take CS I/II again in high school if she completed them in 7th or 8th grade? My daughter just moved on to the next class when she started high school. I was surprised to see CS I/II listed on her transcript, but I bet they would remove them if you didn't want...
