Hi, Susan! I just read this. I hope everything works out for him to take the AP test; the nice school in the country sounds promising. We've had struggles finding a host school for the AP Latin test, but finally a nice private school came through for us. College board is a headache. I had a few...

I'm wondering if the Senior Thesis class offered through MPOA could fill this need? I have a rising senior who has been through CC all the way, some at home, most through online. She seems to be comfortable with cranking out writing assignments and getting positive feedback on them. This past school...

I really appreciate this thread - so helpful to us personally. Our older dd is getting ready to apply to colleges in a few months. She dearly wants to go to Hillsdale, but is trying to see what else might work. Her bent is languages, liberal arts, etc. If she had more of a math/science focus,...

Summer Meet-up for MPOA Students?
Hello All, Just reaching out to see if there is any interest in this. My daughters (13 & 17) will be in Louisville, along with my husband and I during Sodalitas. The way this works for our family is that I get dropped off at the Highlands Campus, and then they go off to do fun things during...

My daughter will also be in Algebra ll through MPOA this fall ????. My older daughter took it through MPOA a couple of years ago, and they definitely keep a brisk pace in order to finish the book within the school year, so I think pressing on to finish Algebra l, as well as reviewing it in order to...Last edited by chapulina; 05-21-2019, 02:50 PM.

Hello, I'm guessing you are referring to the Prentice Hall Algebra book? I would say that finishing the book is important. The Prentice Hall Algebra ll book does review, but seems to go more in depth, I think. Anyway, I don't think there is any danger in overlearning Algebra. My grade 8 student is finishing...Last edited by chapulina; 05-21-2019, 12:40 AM.

Looking for Feedback on Introductory Physics
Hello! If you/your student has taken this class through MPOA, would you be willing to give some feedback on it? I have a rising 9th grader for whom I am considering this class. However, she will have a full load, including Algebra ll, Logic l & ll, Fourth Form Latin, and some others, and it...

Re: OT: not using Facebook
I deleted my account about a year and a half ago. Very happy, no regrets whatsoever. It was a big time waster in my life. I’m enjoying living and doing things in real time, and feel much more focused on whatever it is I’m actually doing. Mentally, I...Last edited by chapulina; 07-18-2018, 04:22 PM.

Novare Chemistry
Hello. I am looking for feedback from anyone who has done Novare Chemistry at home. If your student took it online, that feedback would be helpful as well. We have used both Apologia and Novare for the sciences so far, and are trying to make a good decision for Chemistry. My student, at this point,...

Re: OT: Just for Fun: You Know Your Child Is Classically Educated When....
I had to resurrect this thread after hearing my 16 y.o. comment on her way out the door to face a U19 undefeated soccer team tonight. "I'm thinking I should just tell my coach 'Ave, Caesar, morituri te salutamus'....

Would you explain to us why finiuntur goes to finiantur in the subjunctive? This is from Worksheet #5, Drill D, number 8.
