Re: Geography I Issues
My student guide begins Mediterranean Europe on page 32 and then the next page is 41 (France) - 46, then after page 48 the pagination begins again with France at page 41, then repeats again to page 48 - I am missing Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal...and then several...

Re: Christian Studies IV or Story of Christianity
My two oldest (8th and 6th grade) tried to complete CSIV this year as a review, but it showed me that we were pretty weak in the CSII area - mostly the prophets. That was a tough school year for us and I can see that I did a poor job...

TV Recommendations
I remember a thread last year where everyone shared shows that they had watched with the family. Some were educational, some were just for fun but family friendly.....and even with Advanced Search I can't find it to bump it - so if someone can remember, please give it a bump. I think this is a great...

Re: Classical Studies for 7A - gap year -
That was the plan, to drill the others. Plus, we need to get the timeline back up on the wall after a move, so I will put him in charge of that as he goes through each time period in review.
Thanks for the input!

Classical Studies for 7A - gap year -
My rising 7th grader is on a modified track, because we grouped Classical Studies with siblings and he started before the curriculum shift down. I am finding that we need to "fill a gap" this year.

Re: Spelling advice needed

Re: Spelling advice needed
I think AAS is the best thing out there, especially if you begin in K or 1st and have the time to spend on it every day. I like the review box. I like the rule memorization. I like the idea of tactile learning, though often we just wrote words on a whiteboard...

Re: Spelling advice needed
I have tried AAS, R&S, Spelling Workout and IEW Phonetic Zoo. IEW is my favorite, except that I have a child who would not be able to write quickly enough to keep up with the recording. I am thinking that we will go back to it this year with me carving...

Re: Calling All Texans (even non-native)
I have "Texas History for Kids: Lone Star Lives and Legends with 21 Activities" by Karen Bush Gibson. It is relatively short, and you can take or leave the projects. I thought that it was a good overview of our history even for older...

Re: OT: new Latin book
I have been curious about that book, not for my children, but just to explore myself! That adds nothing to the thread other than to say that I chuckle when I hear the occasional Fr. Z reference because I'm sort of a "closet" reader of his! I just find...

Re: confused about Trojan War lesson plans
I don't think I want to bother with additional lesson plans - but thought I would agree that there must be a mistake in the core plans from week 5 to week 6 in the transition from Classical Studies to Literature - We leave off with Wrath of Achilles:...

Re: LC Review sheets?
With the slower pace of third grade, I agree that the review sheets should be part of the package.
