Hmm, I have a teacher guide I bought used years ago. It has tests in the front of it and it also has the answers to the tests right after the tests. I’m not sure why there would need to be a separate answer key unless there are different tests they are answering.

She is currently an older 6th, right? Next year I would keep her in 7th. I know your mom sees her working at an English level to be in 8th next year and I assume that’s why she says you should skip 7th, but it sounds like you are currently working “behind” the standard 6th so why jump to 8th?...

If the student is able to comprehend and remember enough to go find answers in the book, then I don’t stress over second readings. I do, however, pick some passages to do a second and third reading so they are still practicing reading out loud with expression. That might just be a page here and there...

All Ye Lands from Catholic Textbook Project covers these areas but more at a middle school level as it is intended for around 6th grade.
My adult son is into history these days and loves listening to podcasts from Hardcore History about these areas. He also listens to some great courses about...

This is an excellent point, Jessica. I also sing Novare’s praises, but I am a science gal. I don’t really know how user friendly it is to people who don’t know much about the topic. I’ve had to learn to really try to listen to others who use the curriculum (or really any curriculum as this advice...

This is why I MP!!!
After listening to one of the recent Classical Et Cetera podcasts where Paul Schaeffer defended the Count of Monte Cristo as one of his favorite books (and Tanya predictably argued against him!), I decided I needed to start reading (well listening to which I consider cheating but better than nothing)...

To make sure I understand- you finished much of 7A then took two years off to do other curriculum and are looking at what to do for 10th and you want to continue your own math and do Spanish instead of Latin and you want to know what Mp material to use? If that’s the case here is a suggestion:...

We have a once a week co-op that focuses on some basic memory work and mostly enrichment like science activities, art, Montessori religion activities, and poetry. It is fabulous for us. I find that it takes seeing kids once a week to really start to form bonds. The ideal co-op for me is one that allows...

Wow- my editing went wrong and I don’t want to edit again to get into MP jail so- I meant to put the parts about supplemental books in the spelling not math.

I’m doing four days with 2nd now and our fifth day is co-op. Here is what I attempt to do:
Latin- I move each of the extra books (grammar practice and core skills) up a day so they are done on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We finish everything in the student book by Thursday.
Spelling-...

I love learning grammar. I had never heard the term synecdoche before, although from the examples I understand the concept. I love that learning Latin (or really, in this case, any foreign language) encourages these questions. I think my favorite posts on this forum are the ones asking these kinds of...

If I had to guess, I’d say pre-calculus and physics are the hold ups! That and maybe finishing up some teaching videos.

The “MP text” is simply the actual Shakespeare. So if you find a production that uses the actual Shakespeare play and not a rewriting of it, you will be good. When we did Julius Caesar, we watched a production from the Globe. I went to find it and post the link and discovered they changed it and...
