Starting a Cottage School in Clearwater, Florida

Any Cottage Schools... what insurance agency did you use for general liability? Accord just told me they no longer write this kind of insurance. Oh no!! Thanks!

Our company is Markel, brokered through a local--American Insurance Managers. PM me if you want our agent's info! Not sure how that works in Florida. We are in Tennessee.

ETA: it's called their "Independent School Program"

I went with HSLDA. They were the lowest cost by far from the options I researched!
      Mom to DS1 (11, 6th), DS2 (9, 4th), DS3 (6, 2nd), and DD (3, JrK).

        Laura,
I had no idea HSLDA offered cottage school insurance! Did you work with anyone in particular?

Jessica and any other interested CS Directors,
There is an application on the HSLDA website, that links to their insurance provider, NCG Insurance.
            https://hslda.org/GroupServices/Reso...aspx/Insurance
I looked back through emails, and the woman I worked with was Tessa Davis (homeschoolsupport@ncginsurance.com, (800) 456-6624).
The underwriting process was much more straightforward and simple than the other two or three companies I contacted. I was a confusing, uncategorizable liability to those other companies, but not to HSLDA/NCG! And their rates reflect that.

I looked into this when last you posted and it seemed like they would only cover non-employees (1099 contractors). Is that the case?
