Here's a newer one: Social Communication Disorder, from the DSM V. My son also has ADHD

Yes, "...has been helpful" would be better wording. I did not intend to imply double-blind proven or "cured." (My own two, sleeping upstairs right now, will always keep me safely from any disillusionment.)

    Thanks, Susan.

And congrats on the gains there. Very good to hear!

Thanks to you, too, Anita. You are right. I will add those to the requested list....

    Cheryl,

Love that you are compiling this list. But, just to clarify the words "proven helpful." While I believe these mapped-out years of curriculum (be it SC or MP Cores) are so incredibly helpful and developmental and WILL produce fruit.... you aren't going to see a kid pulled out of most of the diagnoses listed thus far. Ya know? I mean, OCD, Schizophrenia, Blindness, Anxiety, Depression are NOT going to go away with this education. It's through a very Holistic approach, coming from every angle possible, that those kids experience help with these challenges.

Sorry. Not wanting to be a contrarian. Just wanting to clarify.....

On another note.....YAY! for my son with his super, duper challenging language processing issues. He's working through the remainder of More Storytime Treasures at a nice pace (faster than the lesson plans.) Each day I keep thinking it's going to be hours of explaining and working through the MSTT lessons. And he's continuing to surprise me! I am being persistent in asking comprehension questions, sometimes multiple times over and over, and allowing long wait times.....and he's pulling the information out on his own! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!

Thankful for YOU and ALL YOU do!

Feel free to add anything I may have forgotten. (Someone asked for a full list!)
    Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Profound deafness (If hearing disability does not cover that)
    Blindness
Kim’s son, Nathan, who speaks with a communicator — what does that fall under?

Those are the only ones I can think of right off the top of my head.

ETA: any sort of chronic illness or acute pain. Some of our students have autoimmune problems that keep them out of school and I know migraines have been mentioned numerous times. Schizophrenia also makes the list, I think. I know two children with that who have benefited greatly from SC

How about Permanently Goofy? I’ve got four official cases of that at my house. (I blame their parents.)
