    Her first solo radio interview

For those of you not on Facebook, here is Michelle's first-ever radio interview on her own.

    Yesterday in studio:

    ~15min interview

    for this book.

On the way home from the St. Louis interview, she said earnestly, "I need to clear my writing desk, so I can write for the next book!"

Oh my gosh, she is absolutely precious! My kids all gathered around as I listened and they were quite captivated!

        Cheryl,

How nice to finally hear Michelle's voice after hearing "Michelle stories" all these years! She is so articulate and charming. This interview is the best proof that classical education works - for everyone!

I could not stop smiling the whole interview! So lovely to hear her voice! What a poised young woman. Such great tambor and sweetness. She is adorable. Can I say I'm proud? We don't quite own rights on Michelle here on the forum but she does feel like "ours".

Indeed. Perhaps the most exciting thing happened afterward, when she was offered the opportunity to write a commissioned poem based on another author's new book.

Last night I told Michelle, "Today you officially crossed the threshold from being the-little-girl-who-likes-to-write-poetry to being a Poet."

With all of the very hard days, this one will be a welcome day for her to remember.

She is standing a little taller than her usual 5'1".

And now she has a 274-page manuscript draft to read by Monday, because she has a new poem to write!

            Thanks to all --

How proud Michelle must be, and you of her! She did an excellent job in her interview, and it was wonderful putting a voice, as others said, to the young lady we've heard so much about. Thank you for sharing, and congratulations to Michelle!

                  UPDATE --

                  For her supportive "fans" here...

Michelle bravely endured another radio interview, this time by phone for her latest poetry book, God's Harvest.

Before and during, she felt very nervous, but this morning in retrospect, she said, "I had so much fun yesterday!"

                  Behind the scenes...
Unsure whether or not to tell her the questions ahead of time or not, I did. On those scripted questions, she began each answer with "Well...." and then gave a stilted answer. (I have no idea why. This is not in any of Martin's rhetoric lessons.)

However, on all of the unexpected questions, she was her usual chatty self.

Here is the link. The interview is ~15 minutes:
