    a new interview!

Recent radio interview on classical Christian education, 1 hour total:

These conversations contain the best definition of classical Christian education any interviewer has elicited from me to date. A grandfatherly individual, he extended the interview over two broadcasting days:

    Thank you, Cindy.

We now have two radio interviews available on classical Christian education. Both aired on Lutheran radio and, at times, both evidence this context; nonetheless, both contain information many here might appreciate.

Feel free to listen, if you would like:

In the first (~25 minutes), the interviewer emphasizes classical Christian education with special-needs children. We also explain the difference between formative and instrumental education:

The second (~1 hour) is the recent interview Cindy referenced:

If anyone finds these helpful, feel free to share.

    Radio Interview

Cheryl, thanks for posting the link to your radio interview; I enjoyed it very much. It was unlike many other radio interviews, where the questions are all over the map. Instead, it almost followed an outline form, with smooth transitions between the sections. I especially liked the section on the doctrine of vocation. (I didn't even know there was a doctrine of vocation!) Of course, I enjoyed the "how to" section, with your recommendation of MP materials.

My 15-year-old daughter, who has worked with special needs students in the past as a "peer tutor" in her school and in the "best buddies" program for extra-curricular activities, has recently expressed an interest in studying elementary education, with a certification in special needs education. I am going to suggest that she listen to your interview and read your book. I look forward to reading it myself.

Thank you for opening the eyes and minds of many through your beautiful example and wise counsel.
    Cindy in Indy

  • New Audio Interview: Classical Christian Education

For anyone who enjoys radio interviews, we now have an entire hour available on Simply Classical and classical Christian education.

    A few caveats:

    1. I had been running a fever all week & did not realize how ill I was when we recorded this. You may note that occasionally I say little of substance or become redundant. Nonetheless, the interviewer (a friend with a teenage son on the autism spectrum) expertly guides me along.

    2. The interview aired on Lutheran Public Radio, so even though the topic is "classical Christian education" in general, at times the content leans Lutheran.

    3. Sometimes I sound like an repetitive advertisement for Memoria Press, but I want people to come here, especially if they are curiously exploring classical Christian education for the first time. A gentleman called me just this morning from a newspaper. He had never heard of the classical education movement, so his visit to Memoria Press through Simply Classical was his first exposure! He said, "Browsing around the Memoria Press website was like a breath of fresh air. Anachronistic, but in a lovely way."
