We will be working through 5/6. We begin the week by reading the three chapters assigned, then reread one chapter each day there after for three days. At that point, each assigned chapter will have been read twice. Should I shoot for having the three chapters read again over the weekend? Are we going for three readings of each chapter in 5/6?

Are you in One-Year SC 5&6? If yes, see Week 6 as an example. The student is reading silently on Day One to glean an overview with as much detail as he can remember. One Days Two, Three, and Four both you and the student read one of the chapters much more closely with a view to oral reading fluency. You teach from the accompanying Literature Guide for vocabulary, discussion, and more. On Day Five he reads freely, as we are cultivating habits of sustained independent reading. It would not seem necessary to assign these again over the weekend.Simply Classical: A Beautiful Education for Any Child (Memoria Press)
