Myself and Others for a 4 year old

Is Myself and Others 1 appropriate for a 4 year old? We have used a similar literature based secular program; but it was very much geared for ages 2-4. Is there anything in the Myself and Others program about keeping your hands to yourself or using your words to explain how you feel?

I feel like I’m grasping at straws here. My son has regressed so much during shelter in place. I‘m not even sure that the concepts presented in social/emotional books really resonate with him. For instance, we’ve done lessons around the Henry B. Wigglebottom books and he we will say and do all the “right” answers. An hour later he is having a meltdown over being asked to keep his hands to himself. Social stories and flexible thinking activities all go the same way. He does great, but the application is not there.

We will be starting SC-C in July, but right now I just do a short little circle time in the mornings and read picture books.
