I am not Michelle (colomama) - but I can answer that the AM history read alouds are actually scheduled in the 5/6 curriculum guide! (they are they same books from SC3). (Two read alouds are scheduled in 5/6 and you can choose either/or) I actually plan to have my son do 5/6 next year with the history readers and the SC3 writing book. He is doing literature with his older sister, and won't be doing other writing in the Greek Myths/CS books, so I thought having that book for the writing would be helpful. I don't think he's quite ready for the Intro to Comp. (my son will be 9)

Thanks, Christine. That is fantastic to know... it has just made my life feel a whole lot easier.
It is also encouraging to hear of other kids who are about the same mixed levels as my son. Sometimes it has felt like a long and lonely journey.
