SC Kids Meetup: Cancelled for this month

    Hi All,

I’ve been in a tough spot for awhile and need to take a step back. I won’t be able to host a meetup for the kids today (I’m so sorry GraceEllen!) We’ll pick it up again next month!

Taking a step back is hard. As we come into the high holiday season, I think this is a great reminder for all of us.

It's time to check and double-check our social engagements and community commitments. Sometimes we feel we just MUST continue along. Plod along. Plod along. Sacrifice. Sacrifice.

I'm personally not trying to win the homeschool martyr award. Or the motherhood martyr award.

Social engagement is good for our kids and good for us. But, we must remember to keep our eyes on the long-term goal.

Some of you may have seen my post on the other thread about success. That success is after cutting back on our outside commitments. Dialing back our busyness and running about has allowed my children to relax. This has brought a marked positive improvement in our home life and homeschool-life.

So, as we approach the holidays, take a moment to breathe. Reassess where the Lord is calling you and your family. Make sure your attention and energy is focused on the the important things, not the "be busy" things.

Thank you for the reminder. I was just thinking about that tonight. It is hard to take a step back. Praying for God’s guidance and clarity about what to cut.

Edit 2: Don’t post late at night or you use the wrong name. 🤦🏼*♀️
