    Heather,

One year I copied the pages of R&S 3 because there was not enough room for my sone to write the answers. It was expensive in ink and time consuming but worth it. R&S also sells a workbook that goes with 3rd grade- not sure if MP includes it and I know it doesn't cover all the lessons, but I used that too.

Also if they wrote in the book there is not much space so not sure that will accommodate either of them very well? I'm concerned about the smaller print since both have visual problems.

My concern is that they might tear a hole in the textbook if they are erasing problems or correcting a problem with much effort/many attempts?

One of my kids presses down very hard when she writes so it is challenging enough to erase as it is.

Use the textbook as a workbook. Done.

The bricks and mortar MP school does this and most homeschoolers do too.

Those things are so cheap, it's not like a huge investment.
