    Sodalitis 2018

Who is coming to Sodalitis? I am trying very hard to get to go. Due to my husband's job I have to bring my 9 and 11 year olds with me. I found a camp at the Louisville Zoo, but it is a whole week long. I am trying to find a babysitter for the 2 days. I also need to find a decent hotel nearby (recommendations?). I just saw that there was a post about attendees last year, and I thought it would be helpful for anyone attending to know in advance who else will be there. I cannot wait to meet Colomama and Howiecram, plus obviously Cheryl Swope!

I know! I am taking one of your classes if I can find babysitting. I would like to take both, but there are only 2 classes for Stella I really want to take, and one of yours is at the same time, so I am debating. I should learn something about schooling my oldest. She has been left in the shadows with all of the work with Clara.

Finally got my order in for Sodalitas and the Pre-Conference tracks on Wednesday. The husband's vacation days have been approved and he and the Sprout have their plans made. We just have the gas and food and their activity tickets left to pay. I am so excited!

Sadly, I will not be able to attend this year. After covering my two surgeries and my son's assessment and diagnosis, there's no funds left.

Sodalitas is an amazing opportunity. Definitely try to attend a pre-conference track...you've already travelled so far, get as much bang for your buck as you can.

It sounds like you and your husband have reached some conclusions! This could be a very good for Clara's well-being. Praying the transition is smooth for all.

                        Re: Sodalitis 2018

I am so sad to miss Anita and Colomama. Hopefully next year! The distance y'all have to come makes a huge difference in cost.

I looked into flying because I really don't want to spend all day in the car (this year I'm coming from the beach - so 10 hour drive without stops) but airline tickets are at least twice as expensive as driving and then there is the rental car cost. I found a cheap airbnb for Sun, Mon, and Tues nights. I'm not staying for the pre-conference this year because I'm not teaching comp or Latin next year.

I hope you can come Jeje, especially if you are going to continue to homeschool Clara, Sodalitas could be the refreshment and emotional boost you need. I know both years have been really great for me. This school year I think I might try to find some type of winter education gathering to try to avoid the mid-year slump.

                          Hello.

I also am sorry that we will be missing some friends in Louisville. But I want to let you know that we are having a regional conference on Oct. 11-12 in Mesa AZ at Grace Chapel. This event will be hosted by Highlands Latin Phoenix. It won't be like SG because it will be a mix of teachers and homeschoolers, but we did one in SC in Jan., and I think the homeschoolers did have fun. It is probably more geared toward classroom teaching, but there are plenaries and lots of workshops, so I feel like homeschoolers can glean lots from it. I know it's still a ways from CO, but at least it's in the same half of the US! We will post more information as we get it planned soon.

Which of you lucky MP devil's has been assigned CHEC convention in Denver in June? You're supposed to be at the Rainbow booth. Maybe us crazy Coloradoans will crash that party and all go out to dinner some night.

I picture coffee mugs "Memoria Press- A Mile High" on one side and the immensely popular "we do hard things" on the other to commemorate the occasion.

If this posts twice I apologize. For some reason my posts are not going on the MP site. Perhaps I have been banned.

I am not planning to go to CHEC. I have never been to it. In fact, I have never been to any kind of a Homeschool Convention other than the one that comes with Classical Conversations introduction. That one has Child Care, along with teaching your children for 3 full days for $40. The other conventions all need to add this. I don't know how people get to go without child care. Maybe they have nannies or their husbands take those days off? I really just don't know.

We went up to Kremmling today. Are you close to Kremmling? We would like to go again to see the Ammomoite site. We would absolutely love to meet you there if it is close to where you are in Northern Colorado.
