Foundations of Composition - IEW materials discontinued

Hello! I wanted to go ahead and buy the materials we will need for Mrs. Roemer Da Feltre next year, but the link from the class page to the IEW page for Student Writing Intensive would not work. After looking at the IEW website it finally dawned on me that they may have discontinued their SWI series... and sure enough, they have. They're now using something called Structure and Style for Students. Are we supposed to buy used copies? Or will the teacher switch to the new series, or do something else entirely? Thanks!

We are checking with IEW to see if they have enough copies for our two classes. I'll try to keep you updated.

It looks like IEW has enough stock for us to use the old materials for this coming year (they are double-checking now). MP will purchase those from them so we ensure we have enough for our students. We will be putting links on the course description page as soon as we get them in the warehouse from IEW.

Thank you, Paul. Will there still be a pdf download option? I prefer real books, so just asking for completeness of information. IEW wouldn't need to ship you a pdf

I don't think so; I think they are just trying to get rid of old inventory. We like real books too so that's where we are headed!

I have a question that may sound silly, but I know Ms. Roemer da Feltre may have preferences, so I'll go ahead: can the two IEW packets be placed in one binder, or should they go in separate binders? I don't have any binders at hand, so I'd like to buy what they will need. Thank you!

That's one of the easy questions.


She definitely can put everything in one binder. IEW used to sell the Student Writing Intensive Course C with a binder, but the Continuation Course did not come with a binder. I'm not sure if IEW provided binders to MPOA when we purchased the materials from them.
