Hi All,
Many Memoria Press moms have benefited greatly from Delectare Online over the last year and a half. It is a unique opportunity to have group discussions in literature and classical studies with students around the country. However, Delectare has hit a bit of a snag. Despite all of the amazing support it has received over the past year and a half, Delectare may need to close at the end of the current school year.
There are only have 4 confirmed moderators for 2018-2019.
Delectare is funded as a cost share between the participating families. It needs to offer a minimum of 7 groups in order to accommodate enough families and thereby have reasonable assurance of complete funding.
Even then, the cost share only covers the Zoom platform and (sometimes) the lesson plans for Moderators. Web costs are being funded through a private donation.
Delectare cannot offer registration knowing that the program might not get enough funding to continue.
If you are interested in utilizing Delectare next year, please consider volunteering for any of the groups listed below.
We currently there are no 2018-2019 moderators for:
• Famous Men of Greece
• Book of the Ancient Greeks/Iliad/Odyssey
• Book of the Ancient Romans/Aeneid
• Literature 4A/5M (Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Heidi, Lassie)
• Literature 6A/7M (Trojan War, Bronze Bow, Anne of Green Gables, The Hobbit)
Class days/times will be scheduled based on what works best for each moderator.
Moderators need to be finalized by March 1st, so if you are interested in moderating, please contact www.delectareonline.com.
I have moderated two literature classes and a classical studies class. It is not difficult. If you can homeschool with Memoria Press (and we all can :-), then you can moderate.
Thank you for considering,
Christy Buss
