  • Expanded FFL weekly lesson plans

    Hello all,
Jessica/pickandgrin generously sent me the weekly FFL plans that she had put together for her cottage school (she has posted a few on the forum at various times). I modified them very slightly (mostly taking out dates) and have been using them with our small co-op. I like them in that they include not only the daily work needed to cover the material but also add in the work needed to master the material. This has been a huge struggle with my children...recognizing the difference between just doing the work and doing the daily tasks to master the material. They need the extra guidance in this area and I need it written down for them so that I don't have to constantly repeat myself and hear "but you didn't tell me....".

At any rate, I told Jessica that I would share these with the forum in case they will benefit others as well. I seem to be attachment-challenged and can't get them to attach here. If you think you'd be interested, you can either provide me guidance to get them here (I use the attachment button but keep getting "invalid file" notices) or send me a pm and I'll send them directly to you via regular email. Right now I have them just as Word documents so I realize this might have formatting issues for some.

I'm also doing this with her SFL weekly lesson plans but have only completed through Unit II...hopefully I can finish the task over this Christmas break. I'll share those too if this works out well.

    Merry Christmas to you all!

You probably need to convert (export) them to a PDF file. I am guessing file type is the issue.

      Hello all,
I think/hope this will work....thank you to Jennifer for being my tech-gal! The lessons are a bit jumbled in order but I believe they are all there. I hope this is helpful!

        Thank you, Hollie and Jessica!

My eldest is working through LC this year and I can see how this set-up will help her in FFL next year. She, too, is having to learn the difference between The Letter of the Law (doing exactly what is typed and no more) and The Spirit of the Law (working at it with the intention of progress).

          Thank you for posting this!
I am going to add these to my child's checklist next year too. We are going through LC this year, and I have had to add quite a few things to his checklist so that he gets enough repetition and drill. (Otherwise the tests were too challenging for him because he wasn't mastering the material.)

I love how the work is distributed over the week and everything is very specific. (Ex: Parent mark workbook one day, kid corrects the next...And *THIS* is how you should be doing your flashcards...and *THIS* is how you should be writing words in your notebook, etc.)

Jessica & Hollie: thank you so much! I'm in LC with my younger, and TFL with my older, and haven't been able to figure out how I ought to be outsourcing more of the study to my older one. What helpful guidelines! And when we hit FFL again, this will help me manage our time much more effectively.

And thanks to the folks at MP for this forum
