    OT: Medusa Mythology Exam

I got a flyer in the mail today with info about the Medusa Mythology Exam. DD12 saw it and got really excited. I took a peek around the website and it *appears* to be similar (in form, not in content) to the NLE. I'm not interested in prizes so much as in practice for taking exams and testing her own knowledge of myths (she loves that stuff).

Do any of you have experience with this exam? Would you recommend it?

**For those, like me, who are not familiar with this, you can find the website here**

We got one, too. I'm guessing they bought addresses from the NLE folks? There is also a National Mythology Exam as well. If we were going to do one, I'd probably choose that one.

That's what I wondered - because the flyer came in the name of dd12's online Latin teacher, I *knew* NLE was involved in sharing/selling my name and thought this might be the national mythology exam I'd heard about (but had never seen the title "Medusa" attached to it). The whole website is nearly identical to the NLE's; however, the National Mythology Exam's site is very different - this made me wonder if the MME was related to the NLE and the NME was not...? The Medusa Mythology Exam does go back several years (based on the previous years' exam questions link) so it seems legit...but it just feels weird.

Home page to NME site says it is associated with an American Classical League committee geared towards elementary and middle school level. Medusa does seem legit and the few reviews I have found make it sound harder and more high school age. I too got the mailing, but they don't seem to have any direct connection to the ACL.
