    Prayer Requests

Ladies, I am scheduled to have hernia surgery on Wednesday morning. Getting a little nervous as it gets ever closer. I would appreciate prayers for peace and speedy healing.

On another, kind of funny note...I have been feverishly cleaning in preparation for being couch ridden for awhile. I washed sheets, towels, you name it. Somehow even managed to wash the hot pads. Yes, hot pads ladies. So I'm tossing a load of delicate sweaters into the dryer and it goes "clunk, bang" when I turn it on. Hmmm? I spoke sternly to it, no change in behavior. I unplugged it and gave it a time out in the dark for awhile, no change. Dh arrives home and I announce that the dryer is on strike. I think it has a broken belt. He questions this and goes down to examine it for himself. Turns out, the dryer is still on strike, even for him. He says, "Seems like you should get that air dryer thingy out for outside." (He's describing a clothes line). I look sly at him and say, "No, you should get that thingy out. Looks like I'm done doing laundry for a few weeks." It hadn't really struck him until that moment that I was going to be couch ridden and laundry and cooking and child bathing and etc. would be passed to him. Total deer in the headlights. So, prayers for him, too. Yes, he can handle this, but prayers for me that I LET him handle this. Going to be very difficult to remind myself to take it easy.

Praying for safe passage through surgery and complete healing for your body, Michelle.

Our dryer quit with no warning two weeks ago and based on the error code we determined it was "totaled." My husband found us a "new" one right away from Craigslist for $75. Cheaper than a repair! And, we let the kids completely disassemble the old one, so that was fun. We had to crop out the pile of dryer parts from all of our eclipse photos, haha!

Aw, sweetie... Do you need some wigs? ((((They'll cheer you uuuuup...))))

The hardest part will be lying still. I'm sorry. I can imagine this frustration. Prayers indeed.

Sending prayers your way! It is so hard to keep still when there are a million mom things that are going through your mind that need to be done or watching your husband do things *gasp* the wrong way!

I sincerely hope this time brings healing to you and brings you and your husband closer together as you lean on him to do things and he fumbles his way through the joys of a dryer strike. ***Praying that the washer doesn't copy that bad behavior!***

                  Re: Prayer Requests

Thank you ladies. It took a little longer than expected this morning. My blood pressure was too low post-op to be released so they kept me for awhile. Once I proved I wouldn't faint upon sitting upright or standing and that I could use the restroom without a nurse supervising the action, I was free to go.

Dh won brownie points from the nurses station and myself when he showed up in post-op recovery with a bouquet of roses. What a sweetie!

I'm now holed up on the couch, ice pack on the belly, reading a Laura Wilder autobiography...nothing homeschool related within arms reach, with the kids spending time with grandma and papa 4 hours away. Yay!
