FSR E - Please remind me!

    FSR E - Please remind me!

    Greetings friends!

    I know I haven't been around too much lately, but I appreciate someone taking the time to refresh my memory. Starting with our next school year I will have a 1st, 3rd, and 5th grader using MP. I'm struggling to remember where FSR-E is used in the curriculum. My oldest completed kindergarten before it was added. And honestly, I had toddler twins when my second daughter completed kindergarten so it's all kind of a blur. Am I supposed to be doing it between K and 1st? Is it included at the beginning of 1st grade?

    Also, I would appreciate it so much if someone could look in the 3rd grade lesson plans and tell me how many weeks are spent on Paddington. We plan on using The Moffats instead (simply because we have it and my oldest loved it) and I want to make sure the switch will work.

    I can't help with the 3rd grade question, but can with FSRE! It comes with the K package now! It is scheduled in the summer between K and 1!

      There are also individual lesson plans for FSR E, as well as optional plans in the back of the 1st Grade Curriculum Manual. It can be done over the summer as Christine wrote, or at the beginning of 1st.

      We cover A Bear Called Paddington in 4 weeks, as opposed to 9 for The Moffats. You can simply extend your liturature into next summer to finish The Moffats, or consider removing Mr. Popper's Penguins (7 weeks) as well as Paddington.

        You now have a choice between completing FSR Book E at the completion of the Kindergarten using the lesson plans in he back of the K curriculum manual, or at the beginning of 1st grade using the new optional start to first grade that includes a two-week review of K and then covers FSR Book E.

        This will give more options as to when to cover the book.

            How can I get a copy of the option for FSR E at the beginning of 1st? I ordered my 1st grade manual earlier this year, and it does not have those plans in the appendix.

            I've been struggling with what to do in a few weeks when we start back up because I've had to go elsewhere for extra phonics work and can not decide if I need to switch over to SC2 instead of MP1. Maybe this would help me be able to stick with MP1.

            I also checked my downloads, but it only has the 1st grade spelling lists included.
