Core Skills Language Arts

Hi all,

I just received the new catalog... beautiful and inspirational as always. However, I noticed that there is a new supplement added to some of the grades, specifically Core Skill Language Arts. Since I ordered my Grade 5 materials in February, I don't have this. Do I need it? Will there be a lesson plan for it?

Hello.

We did add the Core Skills Grammar books, and they are totally supplemental worksheets. We raised the package prices by $5.00 to accommodate these books. They retail for $9.99. If you call us, we can sell you one for the $5.00 you would have paid if we had added them when you bought your package. If you don't want them, you will still be fine. I will get them added into the lesson plans, but I haven't done that yet.

They are being added to grades 3-7. As Tanya mentioned above, they are completely supplemental and are for those who want additional grammar practice. The HLS teachers, as well as some customers, were requesting this extra practice, so we added these books to the packages.

Excellent addition. I was cobbling Seton grammar together with EGR I in order to get a bit of extra practice, and it was messy. Even though it is an extra workbook and not always necessary, when it is, it will be worth the $5.

I was using CLE's Language Arts for extra practice, and it was definitely overkill. I dropped CLE recently but still felt like we could use a little more reinforcement. This sounds perfect. Looking forward to checking it out!

Amazon may show you the inside. We can't show it because we don't publish it. I feel sure you could find samples on Houghton Mifflin's website.
