    Ana, I like your idea about notebooking about birds for science. My dd will love that. She loves drawing animals, so that will be a nice fit. At this point I'm thinking we'll pretty much do everything except EGR (to do R&S) and possibly not Christian Studies. We've been working through a Bible study in the mornings that I'm very happy with, but we'll see. The more I look around here the more I'm tempted to do!
    So, my idea is that instead of doing CS on that day, have the kids use the extra day as a notebooking day for Classical Studies. They'll complete the lesson and guide on the day it is assigned, and then do a short written summary and illustration (or something similar) on the extra day. I'm still playing around with various ideas, but the kids have begged to keep making their notebooks each year, and they really are a nice keepsake and good review tool.
