My husband and I are seriously considering going. And I may go without him if he opts out. He's going with me to the spring homeschool convention either in Cincinnati or Greenville, so he's wondering if he would rather just wait and hear from all of these great speakers there. (He hasn't fully sipped on the Kool-Aid yet, else he would be scrambling to go to both)
So I'll let you know.........
And any suggestions to further ignite his desire would be helpful!

I agree, this one really caught my attention! Exciting to see what the Lord Jesus is doing in his church and people everywhere, equipping, protecting and preparing. Would be so fun to go!

I am going to ask my husband to give this to me for Christmas...and I *think* I might even be able to book this on HH points! *jumps up and down squealing*

ETA: The hubs is fully on board with me going! Buuuut.....I'm now nervous about pulling the trigger until after we get back from B's Mayo Clinic trip in October. Does anyone know how quickly regular CiRCE conventions fill up?

I just registered. Of course, they asked for school affiliation and, without thinking, I put in "Memoria Press". It just occurred to me that based on that, they'll be looking for a serious intellectual and not some goofy, homeschooling MP devotee.

I'll just take a lot of notes and remain very quiet...and I'll pray that Mrs. Lowe isn't there to box my ears for messing up the school affiliation bit.

CiRCE is mostly an idea/inspiration company...they are consultants for classical schools, but the main way I interact with them is through their many free online resources-articles, podcasts, etc. See their website to learn more: www.circeinstitute.com

The group of speakers at this particular conference is amazing; all folks you'd hope to share a dinner table with.

I'm going for a much-needed refuel.

The Classical Education Unplugged panel discussion that they will do each day is reason enough to attend. This group did the panel at the Great Homeschool Conventions this year. At the end of each panel Professor Carol lead the whole room in the singing of the doxology! It's pretty cool.

We hope to see lots of familiar faces!

The group of speakers at this particular conference is amazing; all folks you'd hope to share a dinner table with.

I had the distinct pleasure of once being allowed to sit at a dinner table with Martin Cothran, Andrew Kern, Carol & Hank Reynolds and Matt Bianco. I count that among the top ten best days of my life, right up there with my wedding day, the birth of my children and meeting Thom Yorke. If Cindy Rollins had been there, my my bucket list would have been complete.
Since I was too nervous to engage in much meaningful conversation (save for notes hastily scribbled on a bar napkin detailing a book Mr. Bianco and Mr. Cothran recommended - Laurus - which I promptly went home and devoured), I'm hoping for a re-do at the winter conference. Here's hoping these people don't remember me!
