I am demonstrating my lack of music education here!

In the First Grade Enrichment guide, the biography of Mozart states that "He was friends with Bach and Handel." I have read that several times without question.

My older children make a notebook page for each composer as they are assigned a new piece in piano. Today we were working on Mozart, and I was using the First Grade Enrichment as a supplemental biography source - and we noticed the misleading statement. In future editions we would suggest specifying that it was J.C. Bach, not J.S. Bach (who was featured in earlier weeks of the guide, and who died before Mozart was born).

I couldn't see this on the boards, so please forgive if I've missed the discussion.
