Cat in the Hat Learning Library

If you've used these with your little one, how did they react? I've seen a few of these at the store, and while I love the "writing style" with the silly, flowing words, I'm not sure how I feel about them in a nonfiction context. So I've you're had success with these (or if you haven't) please let me know. Thank you!

I think they're young -ish but seem to be fine for the purpose. They are going to get these topics again later. Think introduction and you'll be pleased.

My seven year-old reacts strongly to anything he feels is babyish, but he's enjoying these. I tend to choose from the other selections because I don't care for the illustration style, but that's my issue.

While I don't read these aloud as part of the enrichment, I do check them out from the library just as they are scheduled. I leave them lying around and my kids pick them up from time to time on their own. I've been happy with them in that respect.

There are also "Let's Read and Find Out" books on most of these subjects, so you can usually find an alternative if you don't like this style. Or just go with whatever your library has on each topic.
