Question about First Form

We are just starting Lesson One and I'm wondering if the students are to do the workbook with or without the lesson book in front of them. I stood alongside them today and sort of guided them to the correct answer. If I allowed them to use the book, I'm sure they would get the correct answer. Without the lesson book, it feels like more of a quiz and they haven't studied the material long enough to know the answers at this point. Just wondering what others do.

Students can definitely use their texts when doing their workbook. At this point, they are learning the material. Your weekly quiz is when you take the text away!
