Recitations in 2nd grade package

2nd grade recitation

For the first several weeks it reviews all of the recitation material from kindergarten and first grade. Then it moves on to new material in history, grammar, measurement, money, literary terms, science, geometric shapes, etc... It's a really nice mixture of things that I might otherwise have forgotten to cover.

Here is just a partial list of the kinds of things in the recitations:

pledge of allegiance, alphabet, letter types, sounds of vowels, counting in various increments, punctuation marks, seasons, months, continents, days of week, money, holidays, parts of the Bible, simple metric measurements, etc.

What kind of things do the kids memorize and recite? The lesson plan sample does not give much detail in that area. Thanks, Susan
