Today in Barnes & Noble in the bargain section I stumbled across a National Geographic Illustrated Birds of North America, Folio Edition. It was a $50 book on sale for $14 in the bargain section and my educators discount card brought it to $11. It is oversize and beautiful and while we're not on the bird year yet here I'm sure it will be fabulous. Just wanted to share incase someone else might benefit.

I love those big books that you can get on sale. Often the text is too small or won't hold my children's interest. But they love the huge pictures. I have a Smithsonian book of animals that has gorgeous photos. They pretty much just flip through it looking at the pictures and seeing what the names of the animal are. Sometimes you can find those books so cheap, you could let your children just cut the pictures out.
Blessings,
Jude
