Another question about First Start Reading

    Hello,
We are using First Start Reading for Kindergarten without the supplemental materials. The FSR program only teaches short vowel sounds and words. What does your program recommend for teaching silent e, blends, and digraphs? Looking ahead to your 1st grade program, I don't see where this is taught unless it is with the SRA materials. Mostly what I'm trying to figure out is what I need to do to bridge the gap between FSR and Story Book Treasures.
    Thank you,
    Jennifer Mason

    Jennifer,

It is SRA 1 that takes up where we leave off in our First Start Reading program. Our students complete FSR in week 27. They spend weeks 28-33 completing the portions of SRA1 that they haven't done and reading out of our primary readers.

In 2nd grade, we pick phonics back up with SRA2 alongside our StoryTime Treasures literature program.

    Regards,

    Tanya Charlton

Thank you! Now I can see our path more clearly! I'll be ordering SRA 1 later in the K year then. Thank you for your prompt answer.
