    Clt 3-6

My little classical co-op was invited to participate in a pilot program for a new CLT 3-6 test this year. I’m just curious if HLS will also participate and if you anticipate giving the CLT 3-6 to students in the future.
I looked over the practice test for 3rd since I have a 3rd grader. It almost looks as if the verbal reasoning sections came directly from MP material! The quantitative reasoning section did not match up with what I see in the R&S 3rd grade book, but looks very similar to Singapore Primary Mathematics curriculum.
Some things on the 3rd grade sample test were readings from Charlotte’s Web and the poem The Pleiades. They asked questions about declarative statements which is in EGR 1. I’ve not seen those terms (declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, imperative) in other 3rd grade grammar courses. It almost felt as if they wrote an end of year final for MP 3rd grade language arts minus the Latin! I haven’t had a kid take a CLT test yet but my high schooler needs to take the high school one soon. Are they all this closely related to MP curriculum?

    Hi, Debbie.

We are not giving the CLT in grammar school. We still give the ITBS for now. I'm not sure if we will consider the CLT to replace the ITBS or not. But we won't do both. We wouldn't want to take up that much class time for standardized testing. I should get a copy of the tests in here to look at though. They sound good.

I have no idea why this is underlining and I can't make it stop. I'm doing it on my phone.

Sometimes, someone speaks with such gravitas, that the phone cannot help but to underline.

I love you guys. thanks for the smile this morning.
Having looked over the practice test for 3rd, I would say the HLS and MP students should totally rock the test. I’m so glad it is becoming a more accepted means of standardized testing. It’s great to have an alternative to CAT and Iowa.

Oh, Michael! You haven't zinged me in awhile. I did figure it out when I got back to the office on my giant computer screen. I had "toggled" the Advanced Editor off. Sheesh.
