    Course Descriptions

Hello! I am new to the forum, so please forgive me if this is posted somewhere already. I am looking at long-term planning. Is there a place where I can easily find the expectations for how long each course takes? For example, is Geography 3 meant to be all year, five days a week? In Classical and Christian studies, do the Ancient World and Ancient Greeks books take all year? Are they done for half the year and then the Iliad and Odyssey are the second half? I have these types of questions for several different courses spanning different grades. Thank you!
2021-2022 will be our 9th year of home schooling.

You can actually look at the lesson plan samples and figure most of it out. Then if you have further questions about how we schedule things (sometimes the lesson plan samples aren't ideal samples!), we would be glad to help. Geography III is all year, but we don't schedule it every day. You can find the sample for Geography 3 here: https://www.memoriapress.com/curricu...de-curriculum/

The Classical Studies for that year is also there, but that is where the sample will fall short since it is just a sample. We do the Ancient World all year as a Christian studies course in our lesson plans so that homeschoolers have Christian studies all year. Then, The Ancient Greeks is scheduled first for classical studies, followed by the Iliad and Odyssey. But at HLS, we do The Ancient World, The Ancient Greeks, Iliad, Odyssey in a row - so once we are finished with The Ancient World, we don't have any more Christian studies for the year. Many homeschoolers prefer that too. We recently had a big conversation on here about that, but I am really bad at finding old threads, so I can't point you to it.

After you have looked at the samples, if you have further questions, feel free to ask here!

Thank you so much, Tanya! The samples helped answer several questions!
