We are starting MP with second grade. I am wondering what we might have missed in the content areas from K and 1st grade. I have looked over a Scope & Sequence ( I don't know how current it is), and I do not see very much that we missed. Is there any where else that I should check, or does anyone have any thoughts on what should be covered before we begin second grade? Otherwise, will I see where holes are as we broach topics in second grade enrichment? Thank you!

If your child is reading on grade level, knows cursive, and has mastered their math facts through 10 (addition and subtraction only) they will likely be ready to begin second grade. Let me encourage you to be sure to cover all the phonics material in both the literture teacher guides and the spelling. They will go over topics covered in K and 1st. Cover these to ensure there are no gaps in her phonics.
