    Birds and Astronomy

My rising 5th grader is going to work through Birds and Astronomy this year. She will do Birds as written and do Astronomy double time so she can complete it in one semester.

(She took Insects last year while doing 4NU.)

Would it be better to do Birds or Astronomy during the 1st semester of next year? Is one harder than the other? Or does it matter?

She will be doing 5M core as written except for science.

    Thanks!

Astronomy is the easier of the two and might be a nice start to the year!

Also, there will at least be some constellations in the night sky in the fall she can see. Toward winter, it's darker earlier, so she wouldn't have to stay up so late to identify the ones she mastered during the semester prior. And then in spring, birds may start returning to the area as she's wrapping up the Birds study. Sounds like a winning combo to me!

Isn't that funny? I felt like Birds was MUCH easier than Astronomy. We folded on Astronomy, but did complete Birds.
