How do you copy a poem? When to indent, etc.

My kids and I are in a little debate about what is the proper way to copy over a poem. Evidently, I have told them to do different things at different times in their Poetry for the Grammar stage book. (BLUSHING WITH SHAME...because they are probably right about that!)

Would you like to weigh in? What is the proper way to copy over a poem?

    Option 1:

The whole poem is indented. If the line of the poem does not fit on the page, you indent further. Lines are skipped between stanzas.

    Option 2:

The poem is aligned with the left margin, and you only indent when the natural line of the poem will not fit on the page. Lines are skipped between stanzas.

    Option 3:
Something else entirely. (You fill in the blank)
