  • May have found a solution to flashcards with multiple kids!

I know this has been an ongoing problem for alot of us, so I thought I would share a happy little accident I just had:

I needed a way to mark the Latin flashcards that my son doesn't have mastered while leaving them in order in the set (I used to pull them into a different pile but then cards would get mixed up, forgotten, etc)
Being out of post-it tabs, I grabbed some washi tape and folded it over the top of the applicable flashcards. It suddenly occurred to me that if I had multiple students using this set, I could just mark their unmastered cards with a different color of washi tape for each! It's so much nicer than post-it tabs sticking up everywhere/getting crumpled and the tape is easy to remove/reuse as needed.

I'm really excited about this and I think I'll be using it for our R&S math cards since they're currently being used by three kids at three different levels!

Cute! What brand of washi tape do you use? Mine is plasticized and would not come off so easily. I have seen the paper versions, but some adhesive is stronger than others.

I used generic washi tape from Hobby Lobby. It’s thin — almost transparent in the lighter colors — and does come off as long as it’s not on too long and/or you press lightly to adhere it. Reusing the same pieces after they master a card will also help with the removal factor on later cards.
