Great question! We are starting Henle 2 as well this year. I found it online for $13!

Here it is on Project Gutenberg. You can glance through it here and see if it's a good fit: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/8425/8425-h/8425-h.htm

    Hello.

Martin's favorite one is out of print, but it is called Caesar, A Sketch by James Anthony Froude. Maybe it is on Project Gutenberg?

Please recommend a biography of Caesar

My eighth grade son will be taking Henle II this fall. In the course materials a biography of Julius Caesar is recommended but not required. I have a couple in mind, but would like recommendations from those of you that may be able to recommend one that your similar aged child enjoyed. He likes to read and has a fair knowledge of Roman history (FMOR and The Book of the Romans, and all the Forms series). I think he will love it if I find the right book. He is a 13 year old boy, so he would be more interested in Caesar the soldier and statesman, rather than anything involving Cleopatra, or anyone's wives.
