    Labeling / Organizing Books??

Mainly for the read aloud books and American history readers although if you have any other amazing organizing tips please pass them along! I know I've seen where people have used colored stickers and labeled each level for the read alouds so they're easily identifiable on the shelves. I have tried several brands and types of stickers, and everything I've tried has come off as soon as we take the book down to read. Some find their way back on, but most don't. After making the investment in the sets I would like to keep them organized and set apart a little from our normal library of books.

My intentions this summer are to stock the upstairs bookshelf with these books and have the kids choose one at a time and read a chapter a day for their summer reading assignment. I want to make sure I can find them again when I need them!

Amazon links, or descriptions and brands of what you've used would be much appreciated!

I've searched because I feel like this has come up before, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. Feel free to point me in the direction of an old thread!

We do the color coded label stickers, but then put a piece of packing tape over it to actually hold the sticker in place. I don't think we've had any fall off after I started using the packing tape.

I use red for read-alouds, blue for American history, green for the K-2 science/enrichment. I also write the grade level in sharpie on the sticker, so I can easily sort books back to where they belong.

Packing tape! That's brilliant! I wanted to keep the neon colored stickers so that when they migrate into the kids rooms I can grab them back with a quick glance at the bookshelf.

We use the colorful dot stickers. Very few of ours have fallen off. Below is the link for what I bought.
