    Sentence word order

    Question:

In the phrase "son of God", how do you determine whether filium comes before or after dei? We have seen sentences presented both ways and don't know the distinguishing factor or if the word order even matters.

    Desperately seeking an answer!

    Thanks!

As a rule, you should say "filius Dei" rather than "Dei Filius". That seems standard for Henle and for our texts. But in Latin literature, that rule is frequently broken.
