FFL - Lesson XXI - Declensions

My daughter is wanting clarification for the workbook, Exercise II. Declensions : great king, small sister

She declined both with the adjective after the noun. In the answer key "small" precedes sister. Can you explain why this is? She felt "small" was a quality, not quantity.

    Thanks!

The Romans thought of size (big, little, large, etc.) as a measure of quantity. Of course, as long as the endings match, it does not really matter if the adjective precedes or follows its noun. The agreement between the words will be clear from the endings.
