    Material Logic, Rhetoric

My son, 16, has taken Traditional Logic I & II and finished 2 years of Henle through the Memoria Press guides. We would like to move ahead to Rhetoric at this point. Do you consider Material Logic a prerequisite to Classical Rhetoric? How do the two courses relate to one another and to Traditional Logic?

    Hello.

Martin Cothran says that if you don't have time to do the entire logic series, do Traditional Logic I-II, and then do Rhetoric, skipping Material Logic. So, it sounds to me like this is a good plan for you. He also says that if you only have one year, that year would be best spent doing Traditional Logic (fyi).

    Regards,
