For those who need to clarify any issues with the NLE registration/test/etc. in relation to the online version of the test, I received this from the NLE office:

"On your instructor dashboard in Lingco, there is an NLE Guide, which details everything from registration through administration of the online exam."

Once you create an account and register for the exam, you should be able to find what you need on the above.

After you invite students to join the course for the online exam and they appear as students, what do I do next? Are we just waiting for the window to open up on the 27th of February? I see the exam I registered my students for, but there's no way to pick a date yet. Do I just wait until the exam becomes live? Do we just wait until the day we plan to take it to open it? Will my students have to log on to MY computers at my house at the exact same time to take the test? Do I also have to log on to a device to track all of the "answer progress?" This is all new to me. Please feel free to PM me.

          Hi there!

Registration for the NLE is brand, spanking new and has not been very user-friendly. That being said, my assumption is that you will not be able to access particular info on the test until it is, as you said, "live". I am blind this year because I have not registered any of my own students. Therefore I can create an account but cannot get any further than that, so I'm not very helpful!

pickandgrin might able to shed some light on what happens next.

You can call the NLE office if you need to. They should be able to help you.

enbateau What testing window did you sign up for? If not the Feb 27 window, my suggestion is to wait and let them roll it out next week for the first early admin window. They may provide more information at that time. Until Feb 27, it is my understanding that much of what the administrator can do it frozen until that time (under "manage course"/"modules"/"content"/"availability" -- the availability is still not editable). The online hurdles were overwhelming for us, so we switched to paper when they offered it due to potential device difficulty.
Once your student is added to their "course" I don't think there is anything else you can do until Feb 27 and the exam opens. I had been trying to get screen shots from Lingco of what their language exams "look" like, but didn't get anywhere with that. When we switched to paper, I dropped that. I am hoping the NLE provides that this week for users as they have in the past. Knowing what it's going to look like on the screen is very helpful to teachers AND students. We are not testing until the March 6 week.

It sounds like you've already read their guide, but if not, here it is: https://lingco.notion.site/Lingco-NL...5fba760d2b3a04

Best wishes, and I'm very sorry it's so complicated. It has been disheartening though I know the intention is to make improvements.

My understanding is that there was only one window for online testing. At least I was not asked or offered to select a from a variety of testing windows. It just said it would be open from 27 Feb to 17 March at 11:59 PM (I'm assuming this is EST or EDT). I figured we could pick any date within that window, and I have not seen any written statement to the contrary.

This is my understanding, too. I was hoping to do it the week of MA spring break. I will check on it on Monday, but I am hoping that we have those few weeks to get it done. I just don't want to add it on top of everything else if I don't have to.
