Greek Curriculum Question

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on the Greek curriculum. My daughter has completed the Greek Alphabet book, Elementary Greek I, and is finishing up Elementary Greek II this year. For next year, I was planning to have her complete Elementary Greek III. My question is, how does First Form Greek compare to the three years of Elementary Greek? Does it cover a lot of the same material? Once she finishes Elementary Greek III, will First Form Greek be the next step, or will she likely be ready to move into Second Form Greek?

I appreciate any advice anyone can share!

I have been looking into this as well. I did find this from the Elementary Greek link. It doesn't necessarily answer your specific question, but it looks like the recommendation is the following sequence.

Suggested timeline for adding Greek to your curriculum:

7th The Greek Alphabet Book
8th First Form Greek
9th/10th A Primer of Biblical Greek by N. Clayton Croy (spend 2 years)

Those wishing to add Greek earlier may use the following timeline:

4th The Greek Alphabet Book
5th Elementary Greek: Year One
6th Elementary Greek: Year Two
7th First Form Greek
8th/9th A Primer of Biblical Greek by N. Clayton Croy (spend 2 years)

Hello.

We don't recommend doing First Form Greek until 7th grade. It is a middle school course. If you have a student who is at least 7th grade, and you have done Elementary Greek 1-2, FFG would be a great fit. I think that Elementary Greek is comparable to Latina Christiana - an introductory course for young students. But FFG is a serious, more rigorous course that will prepare students for advanced Greek study.

Related, but in a different direction. I noticed that there will be full day preconference training options for both First and Second Form Greek (Wednesday of Sodalitas/Teacher Training week).
Will these be available for virtual attendance/fee as well or are these only available in person? I poked around but didn't see that specified.

If you can take this full day course in FFG it would be great preparation for the year!

We aren't streaming the preconferences because we just don't have the camera capacity. But we will be recording some of them for training purposes, so there is a chance they will be available later. But we'll see how that goes ...

Thank you for your responses. My daughter will be in 7th grade and will have completed Elementary I & II, so it looks like First Form is the way to go.

It's not here yet, but pieces of it have gone to the printer, and the rest is shortly to follow. We will have it available this summer.

We are close. I'm hoping by mid-August we will have all pieces in stock. The flashcards are the last item that still needs work. And we won't have instructional videos by mid-August. We will be producing them in the fall. Maybe by Christmas?
